The emphasis of this report is on grain farms and the communities and facilities servicing them. it shows the importance of farms and communities in the region, some of the socio economic characteristics, and the changes taking place. the report comprises five parts covering: community attributes; grain production characteristics; grain handling and marketing as related to delivery points; the likely effects of the closing of some delivery points, activities of the Canadian Wheat Board, the Canadian Transport Commission and the Canadian Grain Commision, all of which govern to some extent the grain industry.
