Extract: In the following pages, the authors present the traditional model of the diffusion and adoption of new tehnology in agriculture. After that, we will discuss "behavior tendencies" on the part of individual farm operators and on the part of public decision-makers, when confronted with the soil and water conservation behavior. Subsequently, we will discuss the strategies that have been used to implement soil and water conservation behavior and indicate the concerns that these various strategies have raised in the past and are likely to continue to raise in the future.
