Study of the influence of ionizing radiation on the physiology of spores of Cl. botulinum
1960
Harrell, W. K.
Abstract: A 1960 quarterly technical report presented preliminary findings of a study in a project concerning the effect of ionizing radiation on Clostridium botulinum spore physiology that focused on an examination of the physiology and metabolism of Clostridium botulinum spores. The report: (1) described a method for producing and harvesting "clean" spores; (2) correlated the effect of prolonged heat shock on spore viability, stainability, and dipicolinic acid release; and (3) described the effect of various conditions on spore germination and its inhibition.
