Dietary status of elite female high school gymnasts: Inadequacy of vitamin and mineral intake
1984
Moffatt, Robert J.
An assessment of the dietary and anthropometric status and dietary intakes of 13 female members of a state-championship high school gymnastic team revealed that the girls generally consumed less than 100% of the RDAs for most nutrients (except riboflavin and vitamins A, E, and C). A number of the girls had at or below 75% RDA intakes of thiamin, niacin, folic acid, vitamins B6, B12, and D, Fe, Ca, Zn, and Mg, and between 30-60% of the girls consumed less than 50% of the RDAs for vitamin B6, folic acid, Ca, Fe, and Zn.
