Vitamin and trace element assessment of autistic and learning disabled children
1984
Raiten, Daniel J. | Massaro, Thomas F. | Zuckerman, Craig
Nutrient intake studies of 23 autistic, 12 learning disabled, and 16 normal (control) children revealed no differences in intake between the autistic and control children, but the learning disabled children had higher intakes of all nutrients studied (thiamine, pyridoxine, Mg, Cu, Pb), except for ascorbic acid. Differences in the relative number of subjects at risk from apparent pyridoxine deficiencies are noted (autistic greater than learning disabled children). (wz)
