Efficacy of newer acaricide and insecticide molecules against sucking pests of Chilli

A field trial was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of certain new acaricide and insecticide molecules against sucking pests viz., aphids, Myzus persicae, chilli thrips, Scirtothrips dorsalis and yellow mite, Polyphagotarsonemus latus of chilli. Two rounds of chemicals were imposed at 14 days interval at different doses revealed that thiomethoxam 25 WG @ 100g ha⁻¹, abamectin 1.9 EC @ 125 ml ha⁻¹ and profenophos 50 EC @ 1000 ml ha⁻¹ were found to be effective in reducing aphid population whereas thiomethoxam 25 WG @ 100g ha⁻¹, diafenthiuron 50 WP @ 600g ha⁻¹ and abamectin 10 EC @ 125 ml ha⁻¹ were found to be effective against chilli thrips. However, with regard to chilli mites, spiromesifen 22.9 SC @ 500 ml ha⁻¹, fenpyroximate 5 EC @ 600 ml ha⁻¹ and abamectin 10 EC @ 125 ml ha⁻¹ were found to be very effective.
