Use of a programmable calculator for nutrient analysis
1978
Lee, Beatrice Lau
Extract: In the Dietary Department of Little Falls Hospital in Upstate New York a desk top programmable calculator is being used for dietary analysis of patients' 24 hr. food records for a number of days. This same machine is used to analyze the nutrient content of recipes and planned menus and can be programmed for 250 food items with fifteen nutrients. The data and items can also be customized to meet the specific needs of a facility. Other applications in hospital dietary departments, such as payroll, would be possible with a programmable calculator.
