Some present concepts concerning diet and prevention of coronary heart disease

A questionnaire was sent to 211 scientists including epidemiologists, nutritionists and geneticists, doing research on atherosclerosis and lipids from both medical and experimental points of view. The responses reveal what they currently feel about diet and the development of coronary heart disease (CHD). Ninety two percent stated that our present knowledge of the relationship between diet and CHD is sufficient to recommend moderate dietary changes in an affluent society. Sample questions and responses are included.
