An experiment was conducted to know the effect of growth retardants on growth, flowering and yield of gaillardia. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) during 2017 with nine treatments which were replicated thrice. The treatments, comprises two different concentrations of Cycocel (CCC) at 750 ppm and 1500 ppm, Maleic Hydrazide (MH) at 300 ppm and 600 ppm, Ethephon at 500 ppm and 1000 ppm, B-Nine at 500 ppm and 1000 ppm along with control. The observations were recoreded for various like traits plant height (cm), number of branches, number of leaves, plant spread (cm), days taken for first flower initiation, flower diameter (cm), number of flowers per plant, flower weight (g), flower yield per plant (g). The results revealed that among the treatments MH (600 ppm) resulted with reduced plant height, maximum number of branches, maximum number of leaves, maximum plant spread, minimum days to first flower initiation, maximum number of flowers per plant and higher flower yield per plant. However, CCC at 750 ppm recorded the maximum individual flower weight and flower diameter.
