SnO2-CNTs: A novel, efficient and recyclable catalyst for sonochemical one-pot multi-component synthesis of pyrimidinone heterocycles

SnO2 supported on carbon nanotubes (SnO2-CNTs) can be used as an new catalytic system for the promotion of the synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones (DHPMs) in the present of solvent under ultrasonic irradiation. This protocol has promising features for the reaction response such as reusability of the catalyst, high yields, ease of separation of pure product and simplicity in the experimental procedure.
