A survey of farm power problems in Nigeria

A survey of farm power (tractors) in Benue and Plateau States of Nigeria was carried out to determine the status of tractors in these states. Relative performance of different makes of tractors were also determined. The nature and magnitude of the farm problems were described. As a result, there is empirical data to make decisions on any tractor rehabilitation and management program. Establishment of maintenance workshops could be based on the evidenced distribution of makes and types of tractors. Other policy issues on farm power requirements in Nigeria could be implemented based on these findings.
