An Outdoor Gravel Culture Set-Up for Plant Growth Studies
1963
Barker, Allen V. | Bradfield, Richard
SynopsisIt was possible to obtain corn yields which doubled those in nearby field plots. Better water and air supplies are believed to be the primary factors accounting for the yield differences. The study indicates that light may become a limiting factor when fertility conditions are made optimum. The hydroponic technique has potential in revealing deficiencies of the soil environment and for studying the effects of climate on crops growing under natural field conditions.
