Dare to be different?
1998
Ward, M. Sr
This article describes diversity management and how it applies to school food service operations. It describes how diversity management is not about affirmative action or political correctness, and cannot be mandated into a system. Rather it is about integration, common core values, similarities, and differences. It addresses the payoffs for food service programs that encourage diversity, and the increasingly large role it plays in school food service operations. It highlights the importance of good staff training and staff commitment.
