Caring for the nutrition needs of the terminally ill offers a new challenge for dietitians and elicits a number of questions. A logical first step in determining adequacy of preparation is to assess the extent to which issues related to death, dying, and planning of nutrition care for terminal patients are currently addressed in dietetic education. The purpose of this study was to determine educators' perceptions regarding the importance of and the degree to which such considerations are incorporated into accredited programs.
