Seasonal effects of dietary intake on Kalahari San
1978
Wilmsen, Edwin N.
San living in the northwestern Kalahari Desert may be grouped according to different kinds and proportions of dietary habits. Food sources range from wild bush foods to domestic foods such as milk and maize meals. Studies of the San groups are summarized, and methods and findings are reported from research which determined the productivity of natural and domesticated environments, resource procurement strategies, food consumption patterns, seasonal weight and fertility variations, and serum lipid values. Graphs and tables present data.
