The authors revise their previously published estimates of the associations between colon cancer mortality rates and availability of dietary fiber and other food components, based on newly revised cereal fiber estimates. Although the magnitudes of the correlations are somewhat changed, the conclusions remain the same: viz., negative associations are found between colon cancer rates and the dietary availability of fiber from all sources, cereals, and pulses (but not for crude fiber). The correlation data are presented and discussed.(wz)
