This article provides advice from school food service operators on what to look for in industry-produced nutrition education materials. Criteria that are discussed include: generic messages, multi-media formats, uniqueness, promotion of non-nutritious foods, inappropriate messages, materials developed without dietitian input, required classroom participation, quality, and availability. A school food service nutrition education wish list is also discussed.
