1977
Darby, William J.
A history of nutrition education in the medical profession is presented with brief references to early ideas and quotes, and concentration on the last fifteen years. Important events include the 1962 nationwide conference on nutrition teaching in medical schools and the Williamsburg Conference on nutrition education programs. Surveys of current nutrition courses in medical schools are summarized and the work of the Nutrition Foundation is discussed. "Guidelines for a National Nutrition Policy," is reviewed and federal support is advocated.
