Oscheius shamimi Tahseen and Nisa 2006 revisited with supplementary molecular data, SEM observations and the report of its association with a ground beetle, Scarites indus Olivier 1795

The present population of Oscheius shamimi Tahseen and Nisa 2006 is the first report of its isolation from ground beetle Scarites indus Olivier 1795. The species has been redescribed based on light microscopy and scanning electron microscopic observations and molecular characterization of ITS (Internal Transcribed Spacer) region. O. shamimi Tahseen and Nisa 2006 belonging to Insectivorous group is characterized by ovoviviparous females having slightly offset lip region with lips forming three doublets; each sector of metastegostom with two warts; six lateral lines; slightly protruded vulval lips flanked by cuticular flaps; spicules with prominent velum and thin, crochet/hook-shaped distal end; bursa leptoderan; genital papillae nine pairs arranged in 1 + 1 + 1/3 + 3 + Ph configuration. Some information on the dauer juveniles and cell lineage has also been added to the description. The phylogenetic relationship was studied using Bayesian inference and maximum likelihood methods.
