Blodgett, S.L. | Lenssen, A.W. | Cash, S.D.
The effects of damage induced by black grass bug (Labops spp.) on the forage quality of wheatgrass (Agropyron and Thinopyrum spp.) were studied in 5 pastures in Townsend, Montana, USA, during 2002. The maximum black grass damage reduced the protein content by 42.4%. The acid detergent fibre and neutral detergent fibre contents increased, whereas the concentrations of sulfur, phosphorus and crude protein contents of leaf blades decreased with the increase in crop damage induced by black grass bug.
