Especies nuevas de los géneros Arachnothryx y Javorkaea (Rubiaceae, Rondeletieae) en la flora de México
2003
A new Deppea species was collected by Ramiro Cruz Durán in the mountains of the Guerrero state, which is allied to D. guerrerensis Dwyer et Lorence, but differs from it with its ovate long white villous domatiated leaves, prominent cystoliths, ovate to lanceolate calyx-lobes, shorter corolla with longer tube that the lobes. Other closely allied synpatric species D. grandiflora and D. cornifolia differ from our species by having inflorescences much shorter and glabrous and corolas with much longer lobes than the tube. The new species is dedicated to the honour of Mario Sousa director of the National Herbarium of Mexico (MEXU).
