The entire mitochondrial genome of Vietnam Warty Newt Paramesotriton deloustali (Salamandridae: Paramesotriton) with a new distribution record from China

The Vietnam Warty Newt (Paramesotriton deloustali) is threatened by habitat loss and illegal capture for traditional medicines use and domestic pet trade. In this study, we described the complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of P. deloustali. The entire mitogenome sequence of P. deloustali is 16,391 bp long, containing 13 protein coding genes, two ribosomal RNA, 22 transfer RNA genes, one control region and an additional 261 bp non-coding sequence between tRNAᵀʰʳ and tRNAᴾʳᵒ genes. Our new data of the complete mitogenome of P. deloustali will offer solid genetic information for further conservation genetics research of this threatened species.
