Present investigation was established at Regional Research and Technology Transfer Station, OUAT at Kendujhar district of Odisha in 2011 to assess the impact of Conservation agriculture production system (CAPS) on soil microbial attributes like population of bacteria, actinomycetes, microbial biomass carbon and microbial quotient. The higher soil organic matter in minimum tillage (MT) systems elevated the microbial biomass carbon (MBC), population of bacteria and actinomycetes over conventional tillage (CT). Inclusion of cover crops in the tillage practices enhanced MBC and actinomycetes population over no cover crops. The microbial quotient (MBC/SOC) was higher in the practice of MT as compared to CT systems.
