The effect of Tomato yellow mosaic virus on chlorophyll, lycopene, ascorbic acid and protein contents in the leaves, stems and fruits of tomato (c,v, Laxmi (NP-5005), Kranti, Priya, and Sartaj-plus) was investigated. Chlorophyll, content in the leaves and stem reduced. Lycopene, ascorbic acid and protein content in fruits was decreased in virus infected tomato plants. However, protein content in the leaves was found to be high in virus infected tomato plants.
