In the ecosystem in the steady state the energetic parameters may be expressed as their structural (or information) equivalents. This is shown for the process of feeding of the zooplankton. The minimal value of energetic expenditures for such a process calculated as the informational equivalent appeared to be in the same range as the set of minimal values determined on the basis of purely energetic considerations. In such a way, the equivalence of thermodynamics and ‘form dynamics’ for this system is demonstrated.
