A series of different-shaped Cu₃₁S₁₆–metal sulfide (ZnS, CdS and CuInS₂) heteronanostructures have been synthesized using a simple two-phase approach for the first time. This two-phase approach may shed light on the synthesis of Cu₃₁S₁₆-based heteronanostructures.
