Induction of host resistance in mustard with non-conventional chemicals against white rust (Albugo Candida)
2012
Tirmali, A. M. | Kolte, S. J.
The efficacy of the five non-conventional chemical (plant defense activators) in the management of mustard white rust was assessed under glasshouse conditions during 2003–04. The susceptible cv. Varuna was used as experimental host. All the plant defense activators were found significantly superior effective in reducing size of pustules of white rust on leaves except talcum powder in the range of (20.36 to 51.17%) in comparison to check. The significant reduction in number of pustules was recorded in the range of (27.04 to 51.54%). All the plant defense activators had no Wltifungal activity in vitro against the pathogen. All the plant defense activators were significantly superior in reducing discase index of white rust on leaves in the range of (11.21 to 61.68%) in comparison to check
