1973
Sargeant, Sylvia Robert | Cater, Anthony Essex
An account is given of the main fields of activity of a nutritionist employed by a local health authority. These include: conveying nutrition information to mothers; working with the school health service and family practitioners; prevention of obesity; counseling immigrants and people of retirement age; group teaching; advising social services departments; and conducting inservice training for home helpers, student health visitors and others. Teaching methods are noted. The work is evaluated and future prospects are briefly examined.
