An exhaustive screening program on more than 2000 flavor and fragrance molecules and natural products was performed using a newly designed multiport olfactometer and was supported by field trials. The attractancy or repellancy of a number of these materials with respect to several insect species including housefly (Musca domestica), mosquitoes (Aedes egyptae), sandflies (Psychodidae), beetles (Coleoptera), and stored product moths will be discussed.
