Human milk: difference in nitrogen concentration in milk from mothers of term and premature infants
1978
Atkinson, S.A. | Bryan, M.H. | Anderson, G.H.
A study of the nitrogen content of human milk revealed that nitrogen concentration is higher in milk from mothers giving birth prematurely than in milk from mothers giving birth at term, over the first month of lactation. A graph shows the relationship of nitrogen concentration in milk to day of lactation. Milk from mothers who give birth prematurely may be of a composition uniquely suited to optimizing growth and development of their infants. Further research is needed.
