The microbiological quality of 'health foods' sold in Ontario, Canada
1993
Warburton, D.W. | Brodsky, M.H.
A preliminary study was undertaken to study the microbial quality of 'health foods' sold in Ontario, Canada. One hundred and sixty-six sample units from different lots were analysed for aerobic colony count, coliforms, Bacillus cereus, Clostridium perfringens, Escherichia coli mold, Pseudomonas spp., Staphylococcus aureus, and Salmonella spp. The data presented show these products to be of marginal quality and further surveillance of this industry by health officials is suggested.
