The Land Pavilion at Disney's Epcot Center which considers the future of agriculture, ecology, and nutrition is sponsored by Kraft foods. Dioramas depict various environments such as rain forests, deserts, and prairies. The expansion of food production is explained from the single family farm to large corporate farms. Controlled environment agriculture (CEA) is the major focus of the exhibit. CEA features sophisticated greenhouses that produce year-around. The aim is to increase production particularly in harsh areas worldwide. A number of other features are available in the Pavilion (e.g., an agriculture film, and a puppet show that discusses the 4 food groups). It is concluded that the Land exhibit is more entertainment than substance. (kbc)
