The Present paper provides comparative review of Plant Variety Protection (PVP) laws of developed and developing countries of UPOV¹ in respect of various provisions with critical analysis and useful information for policy makers, legislatures, law makers and drafters of the PVP legislation of developing world who have not enacted their legislation. The paper gives in depth insight on some of the salient provisions and the approach being adopted on the PVP laws by countries located in all the geographical regions of the world. An innovative approach has been made for the formation of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) regional platform for South Asia to give impetus for developing, strengthening and management of the IPR culture.
