Annual data for 1976 for three major segments of the foodservice industry commercial feeding, military feeding, and institutional feeding are reported and discussed. Tables depict the various segments by type of establishment, number of units, food and drink sales (including alcoholic beverages) and food and drink purchases in 1975 and 1976. Changes from year to year and underlying factors associated with the changes are pinpointed. Other tables show changes in GNP, consumption expenditures and overall sales.
