Dietary intake of persons 1-74 years of age in the United States

The mean percent of dietary intake relative to recommended dietary allowances as determined by the Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (HANES) is presented for calories, protein, calcium, iron, vitamins A and C, thiamine and riboflavin. Population characteristics considered were age, race, sex and income level. Adequate and inadequate mean intake of calories and selected nutrients are reported and conclusions are discussed. Statistical tables and figures show selected means as they relate to recommended daily allowances.
