Evaluation of betacyfluthrin 90 + imidacloprid 210 od against thrips, thrips tabaci lindeman on onion, allium cepal

Efficacy of different insecticide treatments viz., betacyfluthrin 90 + imidacloprid 210 OD @ (27 + 63); (36 + 84) and (45 + 105) g a.i./ha and betacy fluthrin 2.45% SC @ 45g a.i./ha; imidacloprid 17.8% w/w SL @ 105 g a.i./ha, lambda-cyhalothrin 5% EC@ 15 g a.i./ha; dimethoate 30% EC@ 200 g a.i./ha along with untreated control was assessed against Thrips tabaci Lindeman after two foliar spray applications at ten days interval at the Department of Entomology, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri during summer and kharif, 2017. Pooled data revealed that the treatment with betacyfluthrin 90 + imidacloprid 210 OD @(45 + 105) g a.i./ha was most effective for the control of thrips and recorded highest yield of onion bulbs i.e. 498.74 q/ha as against 375.93 q/ha in untreated control. Betacyfluthrin 90 + imidacloprid 210 OD @ (36 + 84), (27 + 63) g a.i./ha and lambda-cyhalothrin 5% EC @ 15 g a.i./ha were found next best treatments for the control of thrips and recorded 488.00; 477.69 and 458.17 q/ha yield of onion bulbs, respectively. Foliar spray applications ofthese treatmentsdid not showed any adverse effect on natural enemies.
