Conflicting nutrition messages arise largely because nutrition therapy often means different things to members of different disciplines. For dietitians, it is the principle tool in medical treatment. Doctors and nurses, though, are taught to use nutrition therapy as only a peripheral aspect of medical care. These differences in training affect the way practitioners approach patient care.
