Some examples of successful worldwide nutrification programs include iodine added to salt to prevent goiter, floridated drinking water to reduce dental carries, and vitamin C (ascorbic acid) in various beverages, as well as vitamin D in milk. All of these programs have been successful in the United States and elsewhere in the world. This brief article reports other successful nutrification programs to prevent nutrient deficiency diseases in the USA, Thailand, Israel, and many other countries. (kbc)
