Ethephon applied at 1.7 kg Al/ha on 26 May or 31 May significantly delayed flowering, but plants recovered and had accumulated as many or more total flowers by mid-July. The number of pink bollworm infested flowers was significantly reduced as a result of the ethephon treatments.
