Theoretical and experimental analysis of temperature variation of V–Ti black ceramic solar collector

At present, limited studies have been conducted on the temperature variation of the V–Ti black ceramic solar collector (VTBCSC). This study proposes a new method for predicting the temperature variation of a VTBCSC based on a theoretical analysis, through which the temperature variation equation of water in the VTBCSC under the influence of various external and internal disturbances is presented. The temperature variation of a VTBCSC is dependent on two parameters: the characteristic temperature coefficient, A, and the temperature variation index, B. These parameters reflect the temperature variation rule of the water in the collector under the influence of various factors. The A/B value determines the characteristic temperature of the water in the collector and the B value determines the water temperature variation rate. The experimental results show that the heating and cooling processes of a VTBCSC are consistent with the exponential curve revealed by temperature variation theory. Therefore, the theoretical equation of the temperature variation can be used to predict the heating and cooling processes of a VTBCSC. This study aims to fill the literature gap in the temperature variation of VTBCSC, and provides theoretical support for the study of the time constant of the collector.
