Effects of high and low fiber diets on human feces
1978
Beyer, Peter L. | Flynn, Margaret A.
Six normal, healthy male subjects each consumed constant, isocaloric, high and low fiber diets composed of common foods in two five day periods. Significant changes occurred in stool weight, frequency of defecation, transit time, and utilization of nutrients. It is concluded that significant differences can be made in bowel habit and absorption efficiency by altering the fiber content of a diet. Tables show menus and statistical data.
