A survey of family and child correlates of nutrition knowledge and dietary quality involving 97 students of ages 10-13 revealed that the highest nutrition knowledge scores were obtained by older, more intelligent, white students, and that the highest dietary quality scores were obtained by younger, more intelligent students whose mothers worked. Family correlates examined were social class, ethnicity, family structure, number of children in the home, and maternal employment; child correlates examined were age, sex, and IQ. (wz)
