Computerised dietary calculations: an interactive approach

Students attending Nutrition and Dietetics courses at Robert Gordon's Institute of Technology in Aberdeen have successfully used three interactive dietary computer programs as an aid to their studies. RECIPE calculates the nutrient content of a recipe or meal; DAILY DIET calculates the daily intake of nutrients; and EXCHANGE calculates the weight of a given food required to obtain a given weight of some nutrient. Each program is described, and several examples of interactive terminal communications are provided.
