Simple sequence repeat (SSR) analysis is powerful tool for grouping germplasm. SSR amplification of sweet corn genomic DNA using 10 SSR primers generated 127 scorable bands with an average of 12.7 bands per primer. Polymorphic information content (PIC) ranged from 0.22 (Umc-1418) to 0.55 (Umc-1023). Primer Umc-1023, Umc-1034, Umc-1070, Umc-1184, Umc-2039, Umc-126 and Umc-1993 showed good result and could be further used for diversity analysis. Genetic similarity among sweet corn genotypes showed maximum divergence in ISC-5 and ISC-14 whereas ISC-9 and ISC-10 showed to be most similar genotypes. All fourteen genotypes were classified into two main clusters A and B where genotype ISC-14 was most diverge one. Thus, the SSR loci identified in this study was to characterize the genetic variation of fourteen sweet corn genotypes using the co-dominant marker.
