Effect of pre-emergent herbicides on nutrient status of mango leaves
1989
Challa, P.
Leaf analytical studies of mango seedlings from nursery plots treated with pre-emergent sprays of atrazine, diuron, fluchloralin and oxyflourfen revealed that these herbicides affect the uptake of certain minerals without affecting visual crop growth. Significant increase in nitrogen and potassium contents of leaves in the treated plants were noticed. Calcium content of leaf was found to have reduced significantly with phosphorus and iron remaining almost at par with control except at higher herbicide concentration where a decreasing trend was observed.
