SynopsisYields of Coastal bermudagrass, rhodesgrass, pangolagrass, and stargrass increased markedly following split applications of nitrogen at rates up to 300 pounds of N per acre annually. The recovery and efficiency with which the applied nitrogen was utilized varied with grass species and nitrogen Bevel. Ranked in descending order of yield and efficiency of nitrogen utilization in forage production the grasses are: rhodesgrass, Coastal bermudagrass, stargrass, and pangolagrass.
