Extract: This brief, written in response to the Canadian federal government's 1976 working paper on ending wage and price controls, "The Way Ahead", discusses the need for Canadians to take socially responsible action toward a higher quality of life for themselves and future generations. it draws attention to cooperative self reliant action being taken by some Canadians in "new wave" or "emerging" cooperatives. it recommends three means by which the Government can encourage and foster the development and growth of such activities.
