Isolation and characterization of 14 microsatellite loci in Macridiscus semicancellata (Koch in Philippi, 1843)

The first set of 14 polymorphic microsatellite loci was isolated and characterized in Macridiscus semicancellata. Number of alleles per polymorphic locus varied from 4 to 12. The observed and expected heterozygosities ranged from 0.233 to 0.758 and 0.244 to 0.880, respectively. These informative markers obtained in this study will offer useful tools for the assessment of population structure and gene flow of the species in the future.
