In 1988 the Carnation Company introduced in the United States the new hypoallergenic formula named Carnation Good Start H.A. It is a product of Nestle research and it is based on the ingredients presented in Table 1. Complete nutritional information on Carnation Good Start H.A. is provided in Table 2. Five fluid ounces, when the product is reconstituted as directed, provides 100 calories with 9.8% protein, 46% fat, and 44.2% carbohydrate. In Table 3 is a nutrient comparison of breast milk to Carnation Good Start H.A. and three other commercially available infant formulas.
