2012
Shetty, Anoop A. | Rana, M.K.
The field experiment was conducted during winter season of 2008–09 to find out the optimum concentration of gibberellic acid and optimum stage of its application for getting higher yield in ajowain. Gibberellic acid application showed significant improvement in all yield attributes, yield and seed quality parameters over control. The best results for number of umbellets per umbel, number of umbels per plant, number of seeds per umbel, number of seeds per umbellet, seed yield, biological yield, stover yield, harvest index, test weight, seed vigour index-I and germination percentage were recorded with the application of gibberellic acid at 100 ppm concentration. The maximum values for yield and yield attributes were recorded with the application of gibberellic acid at juvenile stage, whereas, the maximum values for seed quality parameters were reported with the application of gibberellic acid at flowering stage.
